Running an NBA 2K27 Cronus Zen script on Xbox Series X|S takes about ten minutes. The script lives on the Zen itself, so the console only ever sees a controller. The one thing Xbox demands that PlayStation doesn't is an authentication controller sitting on the Zen. Dime — the 2K27 script developed and owned by Aero GPC — runs the same on Xbox as it does on PS5 and PC, $50 one-time.
1. Install Zen Studio
Install Zen Studio on a PC or Mac and connect the Cronus Zen through its USB-C PROG port — the programming port, not the console-facing one.
2. Update the Zen firmware
Let Zen Studio bring the firmware current before you flash anything. Most 'the script does nothing' reports on Xbox come down to old firmware.
3. Flash the Dime script to a slot
Open the Dime file, compile it in Zen Studio and program it to a free slot. Write the slot number down — you'll need it in game.
4. Plug in an Xbox authentication controller
This is the Xbox-only step. A wired Xbox controller has to sit on the Zen's second input so the console accepts the connection. Without it, Series X|S ignores the Zen after about 15 minutes.
5. Connect the Zen to the console
Run the Zen's OUTPUT port into a USB port on the Series X|S, and wire the pad you actually play with into the Zen's INPUT (A) port. Wireless pads won't pass the script through.
6. Pick the slot in NBA 2K27
Launch the game and cycle Zen slots with the button combo shown in Zen Studio until you're on the slot you flashed.
7. Re-flash after each 2K patch
Dime ships weekly builds. After a 2K27 update, download the current build and reprogram the slot — an old build always feels a beat behind.
If the Zen stops responding mid-session
- • No authentication controller attached — Xbox cuts the Zen loose after roughly 15 minutes.
- • Your play pad is on Bluetooth instead of wired into the Zen's INPUT port.
- • OUTPUT and INPUT reversed: OUTPUT always feeds the console.
- • Firmware or script build behind the current 2K27 patch.
- • Wrong slot selected in game.
